Ravenswood triumphed at the NOSCARS awards ceremony last night winning both 1st and 2nd place in the Special Schools category.
The gala evening was held on the Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare and awards were presented to young animators from schools across North Somerset who had created films for this year's competition. Ravenswood pupils were all dressed-up for the ocassion and represented the school extremely well.
The competiton this year was an opportunity for our children to produce a digital video using animation and the theme was “Save Our World”. There are so many things happening in the world at the moment and everyone can play a role in saving our world e.g. environment, electric cars, turning off the light, recycling, sustainability, carbon footprint, etc This was the inspiration behind our films.
Earth Class won first prize with their film 'Captain Flower Saves the World' and Mercury Class won second prize with 'Recycling Robot'. The pupils were thrilled to attend the event and especially to be presented with awards and prizes. The awards were presented by Merlin Crossingham, Creative Director of Wallace & Gromit at Aardman Animations.
After the event the children enjoyed trying out lots of the rides and attractions on the pier. A great evening was had by all.
