We had a full house for the Christmas Show again this year; parents, carers and their friends and family were kept spell-bound by a sparkling performance from all classes. ‘Travel through time with Doctor Who’ was the theme, a chance to explore the true meaning of Christmas through the decades and witness how many things have changed in our homes and lives.
The Christmas story was beautifully told by the angels, shepherds and kings, and enhanced by a moving performance of ‘Mary’s Boy Child’ sung by the whole school. Dancer, Prancer, Blitzen, Comet, Vixen and Rudolf, brought some smiles and cheers as they performed a very energetic dance in preparation to assist the numerous Santas delivering their heavy loads. As Doctor Who travelled through time the audience were reminded of old favourites: The Christmas Alphabet, The Sound of Music and Grease. The true Christmas story continued to unfold through singing and acting revealing to the Doctor that the true meaning can be found in a manger; a baby called Jesus. It is more than eating drinking and making merry.
Ravenswood staff set the bar high for pupils this year and in the energetic and varied scenes they all rose to the challenge. It truly was a wonderful, heartfelt production by the whole school who can be praised for the quality of dancing, singing and acting; the audience was transfixed throughout the show.
