SEND KS4 Class Teacher - Maternity Cover
Hours: Full time
Contract: Fixed-term, From 30th November 2026 until 30th November 2027, or the return of the post holder if earlier.
Salary: TMS or UPS + SEN Allowance
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and exceptional teacher to join our team and support our amazing pupils on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, for one year or until the post holder returns if sooner, ideally starting 30th November 2026, (we would also consider a start date of January 2027). We are looking to recruit a teacher who is adaptable, resilient and passionate about making a lasting difference to the lives of our pupils - someone who will inspire them to dream big, achieve their best and believe in themselves!
Ravenswood School is an all-age Special School for children with complex needs and SLD. Many of our pupils have autism, ADHD or attachment difficulties. In June 2023, Ofsted confirmed that Ravenswood continues to be a good school, one that is inclusive and has high aspirations for all its pupils.
Do you have?
• Experience delivering engaging lessons that inspire children to learn
• Experience tracking pupils’ progress and implementing personalised learning programmes
• Experience supporting children with non-verbal or pre-verbal communication needs
• Experience teaching children with high levels of anxiety and potential challenging behaviour
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
